Wat Xieng Thong

Wat Xieng Thong
Centered on a 1560 sim, Wat Xieng Thong whose roofs sweep low to the terrace, is one of the most popular monasteries in Luang Prabang. Standing on the west exterior wall of the temple is a stunning ‘tree of life’ mosaic. There are some stupas together with three tiny compact chapel halls looked like a high tomb, being home to a standing Buddha now surround this temple. Housing the King Sisavang Vong whose statue situated outside, the former Royal Palace which was constituted in 1904 evokes traditional Lao and French beaux-arts styles. Several tasteful, decidedly sober residential quarters stand within the Royal Palace Museum together with some rooms remained as much as they were in 1975 when the king was imprisoned.

Kuang Si Waterfalls
Also known as Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, the Kuang Si Waterfalls is a three tier waterfall situated about 29 kilometres (18 mi) to the south of Luang Prabang. For all tourists coming to Luang Prabang, these waterfalls are a favourite side trip. The falls begin in shoal pools atop a precipitous hillside. These lead to the major fall with a 60 metres (200 ft) streamline. You can get access to the falls via a trail to its left side. The water collects in various sapphire blue pools when it flows downstream.

Kuang Si Waterfall
Spectacular cascades of water make the Kuang Si one of the most popular tourist attractions Luang Prabang. The journey to the waterfall is worth going on with pleasing views across rice paddy fields and the great opportunity to make friends with locals along the way. A Hmong village is also a perfect place to stop where the aged female villagers still wear traditional costume, you can also purchase their hand woven crafts to bring home as a souvenir. If you want to capture beautiful pictures at the village you will be expected to buy from them in return.
