Wat Phra Kaew Pagoda, the second famous and important pagoda in Laos, only follows That Luang Pagoda, was built in 1565 by King Sai Setthathirath. In 1828, this pagoda was destroyed by war but it was rebuilt from 1936 to 1942. Nowadays, Wat Phra Kaew Pagoda is a large museum containing many priceless religious artworks.
